Picnics, Sunsets, and Getting kicked out of Macy’s

This past weekend I had a beach picnic on west beach with some of my friends. We met up around 4:00 by the dolphin fountain in front of pier. I was designated to bring the picnic blanket and didn’t want to carry it so I brought my huge travel backpack and filled it to the brim with stuff for the picnic, I showed up looking like I was ready to go on a backpacking trip through California up the Pacific Crest Trail. We set up to the right of the pier and had some food , played volleyball (barely) , and talked.img_9411After a while my friend Ryo and I decided we wanted to jump off the pier despite the freezing cold water. Our friends Quinn, Brianna, and Kyelee came with us to watch and take pictures while Claire and Elianna held down the fort. Asian tourists watched us jumping off and put down their selfie sticks to watch and take pictures of us.img_9358

img_9363-2After getting out of the water we saw a little kid’s birthday happening on a boat filled with a middle aged DJ acting like he doesn’t hate his life, kids hitting the dab left and right, and parents wishing they never had kids. We decided it was too cringey to watch so we walked back to our picnic area where we ordered pizza, played music, and watched the sunset.img_9438After it got dark around 6ish we decided to pack up our stuff and walk downtown. We went to Paseo Nuevo and got boba, then went to Brookstone. Me, being the clumsy kid I am, dropped a massage tool. The woman who worked there wasn’t very happy about it and told us to leave.img_9451 Next, we went to Macy’s and dawdled over to the mattress section to “test” some mattresses. One of the workers caught Ryo jumping on one of the mattress and told us to leave. Despite her not having a great attitude towards us, I was nice to her and told her to have a great rest of her night. After that we went to Nordstrom’s and got dragged to Sephora, thankfully not doing anything stupid and getting asked to leave again. With that, the night came to an end and we all got picked up at 8:30. My shoulders and back were starting to ache from backpacking up and down State street with my huge travel backpack and was glad I could finally could take it off. It was a really fun, spontaneous, and eventful night and we’re planning on doing something like this again soon.

  1. Amazing photos, my favorite line is “a middle aged DJ acting like he doesn’t hate his life, kids hitting the dab left and right, and parents wishing they never had kids.” Keep it up.
